Description

Description

BolognaFiere’s strategic location guarantees the centre extremely convenient international links. The complex is situated close to the city’s international airport, to the main Italian motorway network and to the largest railway junction in Europe.

BolognaFiere has plenty of added values: its dedicated motorway exit, directly connected to the parking facilities; the fast connections with the town centre and the area’s main infrastructures. The Fair Centre spreads over 345,000 m2, and has been designed on innovative functional and technological concepts. Exhibitions take place in 16 large multifunctional pavilions – fully cabled and air-conditioned, fitted with computerized systems – connected by extensive elevated service areas (used also to host exhibitions/congresses), and equipped external areas. Four totally independent and highly flexible entrances provide for the simultaneous organization of different events; mobility and functionality inside the entire area are guaranteed by a system of elevated mobile walkways (5 m) and by parking facilities able to accommodate approximately 11,000 cars.

The Fair Centre is also equipped with an internal railway station and helipad, whose size and design make it one of the leading private helipads in Italy. Service spaces provide a wide range of offers: to best cater to organizational requirements and functions, the service and numerous catering zones have been strategically positioned inside the fairgrounds. Large, comfortable premises host the management offices, reception desks, engineering offices, press office and meeting rooms. The Fair Centre also provides an outstanding offer of congress facilities, thanks to the numerous congress halls, located inside the fairgrounds, and particularly to the Culture and Congress Building, the ideal venue for conferences and meetings, and also for major concerts and events. The development of the Bologna Fair Centre is tied to famous names in international architecture, who have lent their talent in the design of the facilities: from architect Benevolo (designer of the first group of pavilions) to Enzo Zacchiroli, from Kenzo Tange (designer of the “Fiera District”) to Studio Cerri Associati.
