AEFI AT THE FIRST “GLOBAL EXHIBITIONS DAY” to highlight the importance of the trade fair sector for the economy.

Exhibition and event organisers, trade fair organisations, associations and service providers from all over the world are uniting to support the first “Global Exhibitions Day”, the great international initiative organised for 8 June 2016.

Guided by the UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry with headquarters in Paris – and the IAEE – International Association of Exhibitions and Events with headquarters in Dallas –many associations and operators in the sector have already committed to joining forces to promote the sector and highlight the results achieved to date.

The campaign will focus on messages such as the value of trade fairs for businesses in terms of guiding innovation and competition, the key role of exhibitions in international trade development and internationalisation. “Global Exhibitions Day” also aims to celebrate the people who work in the sector, raising awareness of the career opportunities that it can offer.

“There are many important national and regional initiatives dedicated to exhibitors, visitors, the world of politics and other stakeholders. Bringing these successes together as part of a common cause will reinforce messages and multiply contacts,” comment Sergey Alexeev, UFI President, and Julie Smith, IAEE Chairperson.

“Global Exhibitions Day” is focused on becoming a big annual event and the initiative already has a global character on launch. And sector leaders from every continent have already confirmed their participation. “We’re positively astonished by the support that this initiative has already received,” add Kai Hattendorf, UFI Managing Director, and David DuBois, IAEE President and CEO. “As the organisation proceeds, we’re inviting all the players in the sector to get involved.
