NATIONAL MADE IN ITALY DAY – 15 APRIL 2025: AEFI JOINS MINISTRY-LED CELEBRATIONS WITH TWO SOCIAL VIDEO CAMPAIGNS

A PREVIEW OF AEFI’S EXHIBITION “SHOWCASING INNOVATION: TRADE FAIRS AS HUBS OF MADE IN ITALY” FOR GLOBAL EXHIBITION DAY (ROME, 4 JUNE)

Two original videos will highlight the inseparable bond between Made in Italy and the Italian trade fair system. This is the focus of Aefi’s (Italian Exhibition and Trade Fair Association) latest communication project, created to mark the second edition of National Made in Italy Day. The event was launched by the Ministry for Business to celebrate “Italian creativity and excellence” and is scheduled for 15 April, with a varied programme of events taking place across the country until 2 May. Kicking off Aefi’s contribution, on the anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s birth (15 April), is a two-minute video titled “Made in Italy, Made in Fiera”, shining a spotlight on the pivotal role of Italian trade fairs in promoting and supporting the international reach of Made in Italy products. The video will be shared online and across Aefi’s and the industry’s social media channels. Later in April, Aefi will unveil a second video campaign: “The role of Italian trade fairs in promoting Italy’s strategic sectors”. The video, which will also be part of a social media campaign, will serve as a prelude to Aefi’s exhibition “Showcasing innovation: trade fairs as hubs of Made in Italy”. The exhibition will open on 4 June in Rome at Palazzo Piacentini, home to Mimit – the Ministry for Business and Made in Italy, as part of the Global Exhibition Day 2025 (GED).

With nearly one thousand events held each year, including 286 international exhibitions, Italy’s trade fair industry attracts more than 20 million visitors annually. It generates a total economic impact across the country of €22.5 billion, equivalent to 0.7% of national GDP. A powerful growth driver, trade fairs help exhibiting businesses outperform their sector averages by nearly double, while every euro spent by visitors during events returns €2.50 to the Italian economy.

Aefi represents the Italian trade fair industry, which ranks second in Europe and fourth globally. Its members include 60 trade fair and event organisations, operating across 40 venues that host 96% of all international exhibitions in Italy, as well as 20 specialist organisers.
