Tradeshows Continue to Grow, Reveals Tradeshow Week 200
Tradeshow Week Releases Annual Ranking of the Largest Shows in North America LOS ANGELES, April 26 /PRNewswire/ — Tradeshow Week has ranked CONEXPO-CON/AGG as the largest tradeshow in the United States, based on the 32nd annual edition of Tradeshow Week 200. For the second year, growth indexes in the Tradeshow Week 200 saw increases across the board. Net square footage and attendance each grew over three percent, while exhibiting companies were up more than one percent. “The consistent growth we’ve seen over the past few years is encouraging,” says Dana Myers, manager, supplier publications. “It’s a strong sign of sustained recovery, proof that tradeshows continue to be an essential part of the marketplace.” Medical and healthcare was the most popular industry, with 15 shows in the Tradeshow Week 200. The apparel industry occupied the most net square footage, 6,116,101. Reed Exhibitions was the top management company in the directory with 12 shows, and Freeman was the number-one ranking general service contractor, servicing 102 of the 200 largest shows. January proved to be the most popular month with 30 shows, and Las Vegas was the most popular city, hosting 44 shows in this year’s edition. Despite a strengthening Canadian economy, the 50 largest shows in Canada made no significant improvements. While exhibiting companies and attendance stayed even, the Canadian 50 saw a reduction of almost 3 percent in net square footage. The August installment of the semiannual CGTA Gift Show claimed the number-one spot, spanning 426,957 net square feet. Its January counterpart holds the number-two spot with 423,989 net square feet.
