The George P. Johnson Company Promotes Two 6/1/2006 – The George P. Johnson Company (GPJ) announced the promotions of Chris Meyer and Jeffrey Rutchik who have both been named senior vice president – client services worldwide and general manager. Chris Meyer and Jeffrey Rutchik will partner in leading GPJ’s global client services, managing the company’s regional and international growth. The two will develop and coordinate GPJ’s global account strategies, ensuring communications and consistency across its 14 offices worldwide. Based in San Carlos, CA, Meyer will oversee the company’s sales strategy in San Carlos, Los Angeles and Asia Pacific. Rutchik, based in Boston, will direct and oversee the sales strategy in GPJ’s Detroit, Boston, Europe, Africa and Middle East locations. Chris Meyer has directed GPJ’s Northern California operations since 2000. Under his stewardship, the agency’s profile within the IT market has grown steadily, adding premier brands to the GPJ client roster. Meyer has more than 15 years of experience producing creative and effective event marketing and management solutions with a focus in the technology industry. He joined GPJ through the company’s acquisition of Conference Planners in April 2000. As CEO of Conference Planners, he led a team of 150 employees across four worldwide offices. During his tenure, Conference Planners grew to be the leading event management and registration agency specializing in the IT market. In his new role, Rutchik will draw upon his experience as senior vice president and general manager of the worldwide IBM account, in which he was responsible for all aspects including serving as chief creative. Rutchik led the team that established GPJ as IBM’s event marketing agency of record and oversaw the production and management of an annual events program of more than 1,500 events in 164 countries. Over the course of his career, Rutchik has driven global design and event marketing initiatives for an roster of fortune 100 brands in the B to B and B to C space. He has also pioneered global client service methodologies that help clients receive strategic and localized support.
