George Cojocaru, for the fourth time in UFI Managing Committee

Bucharest – Romexpo Chairman and CEO George Cojocaru was re-elected for the fourth time in a row member in the Managing Committee of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), at the 73rd Congress of UFI, held in Beijing, between November 8 and 11, 2006, reads a communiqué sent yesterday to the press. Also, in September 2006, George Cojocaru was re-elected the vice-president of UFI Europe Division for two more years. During his previous mandate as vice-president of UFI Europe Division, George Cojocaru planned and succeeded to bring UFI closer to the EU structures, the first step being UFI’s offer to support the promotion of the objectives included in the Lisbon Agenda. Thus, at the moment, there is negotiated the signing of a collaboration agreement between UFI and Eurochambers (the organisation of commerce chambers from EU member states), in view of running the AL Invest Programme. The UFI Association was established in 1925, being representative in the world industry of exhibition events, gathering 313 members, which organise over 4,500 famous annual events, events that attract annually over 150 million visitors. UFI is present in 74 countries on five continents. Romexpo has been a member of UFI since 1993.
