Ithaca hands chairman’s role to Soar

Industry stalwart Phil Soar has joined organiser Ithaca Business Media as non-executive chairman. He will work closely with managing director Andy Center, a fellow member of the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) board. Soar said his aim was to help improve the quality of events and profitability. “Internet World is tremendously interesting as the biggest IT show in the UK in an era during which everyone is keen to embrace the web.” Responding to suggestions that the appointment heralds further acquisitions for the west London firm, Center said: “Soar was hired because he has massive experience in every type of exhibition company and expertise in identifying and executing investments.” Want to give your opinion on this story?
