Expomedia acquires additional European trade shows

London-based Expomedia has acquired ATS Events Ltd., organizer of The Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel and Sports Show, as well as a controlling interest in the UK and German MacExpo exhibitions from XPO Group Ltd. Bob Denton, CEO of XPO Group Ltd., organizer of the MacExpo events, says the company needed a partner with show management and marketing experience to grow and expand the events. MacExpo was established in the UK in 2000 and in Germany in 2003 and attracts both general consumers and creative professionals. In 2005, 25,800 visitors attended the UK event, and more than 16,000 attended the German event in June 2006. The Daily Telegraph Adventure Travel and Sports Show typically attracts 30,000 attendees and 200 exhibitors. ATS Events Ltd.
