Reed to manage Goldfields Mining Expo

One major development is that GME will be held every two years from 2006 onwards. This follows extensive consultation with exhibitors and trade visitors and is in keeping with other major industrial trade exhibitions in Australia. “The Reed Exhibitions team is very excited at entering the Western Australian mining market,” said Gorton. “We are committed to the future development of GME in Kalgoorlie, and we intend to capitalise on the excellent work carried out over the past 23 years by our partners at KBCCI. “GME is an ideal ‘fit’ with our existing mining industry portfolio of state and regional exhibitions throughout Australia. “Reed Exhibitions is committed to delivering a first-class program of ‘must-attend’ trade exhibitions that match the world-class standards and specific requirements of Australia’s mining industry,” Gorton said. KBCCI’s CEO Hugh Gallagher said he was equally enthusiastic about the new partnership. “After 23 successful years of organising GME – largely through the efforts of a small group of volunteers – KBCCI felt that the time was right to introduce a professional exhibition organiser in order to take GME into its next era,” he said. “We are delighted to have signed an agreement with Australia’s leading exhibition organiser in Reed Exhibitions, whose expertise in delivering quality mining exhibitions and its commitment to the growth and development of GME will be major factors in securing the exhibition’s long-term future. “The move to a biennial cycle fits in perfectly with Australia’s mining industry calendar and is a move based on overwhelming feedback from our exhibitors and trade visitors,” said Gallagher. Goldfields Mining Expo 2006 takes place from October 24 to 26 at the Kalgoorlie Boulder Racing Club, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. 10 April 2006
