AEFI GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING

A meeting of the AEFI General Assembly and the Executive Council was held at the Fiera di Udine at Torreano Martignacco on 8th April 2009. This was the first meeting of the Associazione Esposizioni e Fiere Italiane to be held in Friuli Venezia Giulia and hosted by Udine e Gorizia Fiere.
Opened by Sergio ZANIRATO, President of Udine e Gorizia Fiere Spa and Giovanni DAL POZZO, President of the Udine Chamber of Commerce, the meeting focused specifically on the current situation within the sector, with particular reference to results of the survey on the subject produced by AEFI.
It was reaffirmed that, at this particular time, the top priority should be to establish a close dialogue with the Institutions, with a view to highlighting the sector as a unique support tool for the network of companies, the approval of a regulatory framework for a thorough recognition of the trade fair sector, as well as the implementation of a permanent coordination between all levels of institutions, both local and national alike.
The meeting also took into consideration the judicial and technical issues facing respective commissions, and the new proposed activities for 2009 on both a national and international level.
