THE THIRD EDITION OF TECHNODOMUS AT RIMINI FIERA

The third edition of the TECHNODOMUS International Expo of Wood Technology for the Furnishing and Construction industries will be held at Rimini expo centre from Friday 20th to Tuesday 24th April 2012.

Rimini Fiera launches the next stage of the expo project begun in 2009 (18,156 trade visitors, 28% of whom were from abroad) and strengthened in 2010 (30,865 trade visitors, 31% of whom were foreign), undertaking the announced biennial staging of the expo.
In the first two editions, the increase in visitors coincided with that of expo space, which grew from 25,000 m2 (140 exhibitors) in 2009, to 42,000 m2 (300 exhibitors). TECHNODOMUS has now set itself the goal of becoming the leading expo in Italy and increasing the profile of foreign attendance, as far as both exhibitor and trade members visiting the trade fair are concerned.

Business unit manager Simone Castelli explains, “In spite of the difficulties that the market has not yet overcome, we are continuing in the announced direction. In the 2010 edition, the market gave the expected response, confirming confidence in the innovative new expo project. In spite of the problems of arrival from foreign countries due, as will be remembered, to the closure of airports because of the volcanic dust, TECHNODOMUS grew in 2010 and we are now better equipped to face new challenges, in order to boost the expo with an increasingly higher international profile. For this reason, right from the beginning of 2011 we have scheduled a calendar of road shows in strategic nations for the companies’ market.”
The Rimini Fiera team has already been working for months on defining sales and advertising strategies and participation in the world’s major trade show.
Participation has already been confirmed by the market’s three leading companies (Biesse, Cefla Finishing and SCM Group), which together represent the majority of Italy's production: in 2012 TECHNODOMUS will again be the only Italian expo in which these three companies will take part.

After the convincing experience of 2010, the calendar slot, simultaneous to that of the Milan Furniture Expo ((17-22 April 2012) has been confirmed, ensuring an excellent opportunity for trade members to visit related trade fairs. On the logistic front, shuttle bus connections will be confirmed and implemented, favouring Italian and foreign buyers’ travel from Milan to Rimini.

As well as its organization ability, strengthened by an acknowledged attention for exhibiting firms, Rimini Fiera also has a winning card in the ease with which it can be reached. Thanks to an airport now connected with the major European capitals and an on-site railway station on the main Milan-Bari line, at which sixteen trains stop every day, just fifty metres from the entrance to TECHNODOMUS.

organizzatore

The region of Trentino-Alto Adige has always been a nerve centre of trade because of its strategic location on the north-south transit axis. In order to maintain and guarantee this north-south connection, the road network was already built 150 years ago, while the construction of the Brenner Motorway dates back to 1972. This area of the Alps is now the site of one of the largest traffic infrastructure projects being built in all of Europe: the Brenner Base Tunnel. “The Brenner Axis TEN-T PP 1 from Berlin via Munich, Verona, and Rome to Palermo is one of Europe’s most ambitious projects, and without a doubt, it is the largest investment associated with a traffic project that Europe has ever made,” said the EU coordinator of the PP 1 axis within the framework of “Viatec”, the International Tradeshow for Road Construction and Infrastructure Management in Bolzano.
Bolzano is the provincial capital of Alto Adige/South Tyrol, and thanks to a high degree of cooperation at the international level between universities and research centres, work is carried out in the area of road construction and infrastructure at an extremely high level. And the know-how which is attained in this way can be exported throughout the world. “India is a country with a very high population density and outstanding scientists and researchers,” says Konrad Bergmeister, member of the board of directors of the Brenner Basistunnel SE, and he adds, “That which we are able to impart to this country is a culture of sustainable construction with all of the aspects of the maintenance and monitoring of the infrastructures so that they are long lasting.”

The goal of “TrafficInfraTech” is to provide a gathering for international experts in the sector as well as to bring together supply and demand in a concentrated form. With a current population of 1.2 billion, it is expected that by the middle of the century, not only will India be the most populous nation on earth, but its gross domestic product will rank third in the world, behind those of China and the USA. The sheer size of the Indian national economy, the demographics, and the continuously high rate of growth will make the subcontinent into the most important market on the globe after China. But in contrast to China, development in India is already being driven forward today by domestic demand.*
“With more than sixty exhibitors and over two thousand visitors, TrafficInfraTech gave a great first performance,” emphasizes Reinhold Marsoner, director of the Bolzano/Bozen Exhibition Centre. “Thanks to our Indian and Italian partners, we are able to create an information platform in India for road construction and infrastructure management at a European standard.”

organizzatore

PROWINTER 2011, KITZBÜHEL RECEIVES FIS ALPINE SKI WORLD CUP ORGANIZER 2011 AWARD

Kitzbühel, Austria, the Organizer of the legendary Hahnenkamm Races, was today presented with the inaugural FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Organizer Award for the 2010/201 season at a ceremony during the ProWinter 2011 Trade Fair in Bolzano/Bozen (ITA).

The FIS OC Award is based on evaluations of each Organizer by key stakeholder groups of the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup ranging from the athletes to team captains and representatives of the print and photographic media and broadcasters. Each group assessed in detail the various services they received per site during the 2010/2011 season at the 33 venues on the past season’s calendar.

Another Austrian Organizer, Flachau was a close runner-up, following its ladies’ night slalom on 11th January 2011. Val Gardena-Gröden (ITA) completed the top 3, narrowly ahead of Beaver Creek (USA) and Zagreb (CRO) in 4th and 5th places, respectively. Some 150 key participants of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup events during the 2010/2011 season contributed their feedback to the assessment.

Special mentions were awarded to the ‘most friendly Organizers’ in four sub-categories: the World Cup athletes selected Flachau as the most athlete-friendly Organizer while the team captains found Kitzbühel the most tea -friendly Organizer. The membership of the AIJS (Association Internationale des Journalistes de Ski), who partnered with FIS to evaluate the Organizers from the perspective of the media, felt that last season’s most media-friendly Organizer was Schladming (AUT), while the broadcasters felt best serviced by Kitzbühel. The purpose of the FIS OC Award is to acknowledge the efforts of the Organizing Committees and to stimulate further development of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup series as well as recognize extraordinary ideas and engagement.

Established in 1966, the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup is the only global series featuring the world's best

ski racers week after week from October to March. The Audi FIS Ski World Cup consists of approximately 70 annual events at 25-30 venues in some 12 countries and is broadcast to more than 40 countries worldwide.

LAUNCH OF THE VERONA & LAGO DI GARDA CONVENTION BUREAU INTERNATIONAL ROADSHOW

The EIBTM in Barcelona will be the setting for the international launch of the Verona & Lago di Garda Convention Bureau, which will continue with further stops in various countries throughout 2011. The Verona Province Convention Bureau is a non profit-making consortium with the mission of promoting, developing and positioning the entire Verona area as an acknowledged ideal location to meet the demand for convention tourism, incentive travel and large scale prestige gatherings of all kinds.

The Bureau’s organizational structure highlights the solid nature of its proven expertise in the tourist industry: Veronafiere and the Chamber of Commerce, Aeroporto Valerio Catullo di Verona Spa, the Consorzio di Promozione Turistica Verona TuttIntorno and the Consorzio di Promozione Turistica Lago di Garda è.

A clear vision and great potential, as yet not fully realized, in this sector: this is the message of Bureau President Diego Briani "Verona and Lake Garda, thanks to their strategic geographical location, their new infrastructures designed to host large scale events, their value for money compared to other major centres and a territory which can boast a unique and fascinating mix of history, art and culture, are destined to achieve a leading position on the Italian convention scene."

This undisputed leadership in the Meeting industry is borne out by some significant statistics : an overall conference capacity of 40,000, 400 meeting rooms in conference centres, stately homes and historic buildings, hotels and other venues, 70 Museums, 55,000 bedrooms in hotels and non-hotel accommodation, almost 500 restaurants and 110 wineries featuring the most prestigious names on the world’s wine markets, 35 international trade fairs with 1,300,000 visitors, and an extremely dynamic transport system including 35,000 flights per year with 3,000,000 passengers using Verona’s "Valerio Catullo" international airport and direct air links to approximately 60 destinations, and over 300 trains every day carrying a total of 25,000,000 passengers per year.

These figures are based on the solid foundation of a dynamic convention sector which combines expertise in the traditional tourist industry with the specific incoming and incentive sectors and is able to satisfy whatever requirements you may have, all in accordance with specific quality parameters that are constantly monitored and certified; the Verona Red Carpet Excellence Club, in the closing words of our President, "a metaphorical red carpet, a priority fast track that our customers can use when organizing their events".
